Abita Springs Beer
For dinner tonight we are preparing Japanese food. Mmmm. We headed over to Andronicos to pick up a few things. The store really reminds me of Whole Foods in a few ways.
Every time I go to a place like Whole Foods or Andronicos I go out of my way to check out the beer selection to see if they happen to carry Abita Beer. After living in California for almost 4 years, I've yet to find a place that carries it until today. Low and behold Andronicos sells Abita Amber!

I had a friend who was able to tour the abita facilities, well I guess he just took the tour and then ate and drank at their bar, but he said it is a really rad place to check out, I may be going down later this month to celebrate a friend's 21st, should be rad.
Thanks for the comments re Rails. I'm not trying to be a hater, just had to forewarn the developer community; civic duties and all! ;)
What drew me to this comment was the Abita. I absolutely love Purple Haze. They serve it at my favorite BBQ joint in the city: Dinosaur.
Take care, Nick!
Hooray!
You mean there are places w/o Abita Beer? Nick, how will I survive while I'm away? I wonder if I can ship you a case of Abita so it'll be there when I arrive in San Francisco (sunday). Can you ship alcohol? I must do some investigating. Otherwise I'll just pack it. ;)
Yay! You are here!
In all seriousness though, this past December was the first time in several years that I've had the taste of some good Abita Amber.
You might find it at SF's newest store City Beer right around the corner from my place at Folsom & 7th. You can mix-and-match a six pack, have a (legal) 6oz "sample" and chat with the ultra-passionate owner. (And try to convince him to get Summit Beer imported from Minnesota.. Mmmmm Summit....)
